AIS ship positions AIS

The AIS Positions API delivers global vessel tracking with continuously updated data. Access reliable AIS signals, extended ship information, and find ships by destination or ETA. Monitor your fleet in real-time, review six years of history, and tap into a powerful resource for maritime awareness. Ideal for developers, operators, and service providers building data-driven maritime applications.

AIS API Features

Global Coverage

Our global ship positioning coverage spans major trade routes, remote waters, and ports worldwide. With data gathered through satellites and terrestrial stations, our API track vessels across oceans and coastlines and inland waterways around the globe. From commercial shipping lanes to distant fishing grounds, this reach helps developers and operators monitor all kind of vessels wherever those are, supporting better decision-making and reliable maritime operations.

Continuous Updates

Continuous updates ensure vessel positions remain current and dependable. By processing AIS transmissions from multiple sources, we provide near real-time tracking that supports real-time tracking, monitoring, reporting and timely decision making. Whether monitoring busy shipping lanes, evaluating routes, verifying arrivals and departures, or adjusting to shifting conditions, our refreshed data keeps maritime operations responsive and informed.

8 Years of History

Eight years of historical AIS data support long-term analyses and informed decision-making. Examine past voyages, identify patterns, compare routes, or assess performance over time. Whether verifying compliance, evaluating operational strategies, calculating demurrages and laytime, or shaping future plans, this historical record becomes a valuable resource for continuous improvement and evidence-based management across daily practice.

Search for Any Vessel

Use the AI's autocomplete ship search endpoint to quickly locate any ship by name, IMO, MMSI, or call sign, even with partial details. The results include ship dimensions, draft, type, callsign, last-seen date, and vessel's flag. This tool simplifies identification, streamlines research or tracking, and fosters efficient operational workflows. Advanced filtering adapts to approximate queries, vital for swiftly finding and requesting further position details.

Find Vessels by Destination

The “Find Ships by Destination and ETA” endpoint returns vessels heading to specified ports within a defined timeframe. By querying target locations and arrival windows, users receive detailed listings of ships scheduled to arrive during that period. This feature aids port managers, logistics planners, and shipping lines in optimizing berth scheduling, cargo allocation, resource planning, and timely decision-making for smoother operations.

Find Vessels Within Range

The “Find Ships Within Range” endpoint locates vessels within a specified radius from given coordinates. By providing a coordinate, a radius in kilometers, and add filters such as ship type (e.g., cargo, tanker) and operational status (e.g., underway, anchored), users obtain precise listings of vessels along with those vessels' latest positions, that do match their chosen criteria. This endpoint is very handy for situational awareness, resource planning, and operational coordination.
