Great Circle and Rhumbline

Unlike other solutions that only handle Great Circle routes extracted from past ship tracks or claim Rhumbline support inaccurately, our Sea Routing API accommodates both Great Circle and Rhumbline calculations for real-world routing results, by using different data sets and routing engines. Also our routing even if Great Circle is selected, uses Great Cirlce only where it actually applies. Because the shortest path isn’t always the best, we ensure accurate results that reflect actual shipping practices.

Sea Routing Navigation Tools

Toggle among 18 canal/strait passages, avoid SECA areas by percentage, or set a % compliance for Archipelagic Sea Lanes. Request or skip retrieving the route’s waypoints, retrieve all crossed “special areas” (JWLA, WOA, Load Lines, Time Zones, SECA Areas, Trade Lanes etc), as well as receive the navigation settings each route was calculated.
